To suit the eclectic aesthetic of JMA’s new office renovation, under desk storage cabinets were constructed out of found objects from the original office space. Double stacked drawers were cut to only their top unit and mounted on school chair legs to create a “floating cabinet effect”. We secured the chair legs to the cabinet using a bolted assembly of ready rack steel angles, leaving an exposed set of decorative bolt caps to reveal the connection.
My role included the physical mockup of the assembly, measuring and planning, material budgeting and leading the construction of these units.
